The first IE Certified Interpretive Writer (CIW) course in Sweden has been organised by the Innovatum Science Center in Västergötland.
Participants created interpretive panels in the SAAB car museum, the old NOHAB ironworks and the historic locks and bridges around the Trollhätta Canal. During a field trip to the Älgens Berg Royal Hunting Museum in the UNESCO Global Geopark Platåbergens, they designed audio stations and while the rain pelted the roof of the conference tent, they philosophised about the benefits of the written and spoken word. For sure, the mind-blowing creativity sessions at the start of each day are missed by many, but participants will now enrich their daily work with the cornucopiae of inspiration they bestowed upon one other. ![]()

On September 22 and 23, interpretation enthusiasts met at the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek (Poland) for the "Interpreting our Museums" seminar under the patronage of Interpret Europe. Papers, talks and discussions concerned how interpretation of heritage can help museums, while interpretive walks showed how interpretation works in practice. The event was part of the Erasmus+ project, thanks to which as many as 30 museum employees obtained the IE CIG and CIW certificates after the training in Croatia, organised by Muses/MUZE (co-funded by the European Union).
