She is passionate about using design to connect audiences with the ocean and inspire meaningful conservation action. Through her role\, she develops interactive exhibits that educate and engage visitors with a strong emphasis on endangered species like the African penguin.

SUMMARY:IE Webinar: Case studies from museum and cultural heritage projects in the Czech Republic
DESCRIPTION:12 May at 15:00 CEST. \nThis webinar presents an in-depth reflection based on case studies from museum and heritage projects. It focuses on dramaturgical thinking\, spatial storytelling\, and the translation of complex source material into forms that are readable and meaningful for visitors. The session will concentrate on the design process: how meaning is structured\, where key decisions are made\, and how content\, space\, and visitor movement are composed into a coherent narrative experience. \nDrawing on three concrete projects – the exhibition for the Museum of Františkovy Lázně\, the interpretive concept for Arnold’s Villa in Brno\, and a narrative space developed through the spatial translation of a sociological survey – the session illustrates different starting points and working methods. The case studies demonstrate specific tools used to transform historical archives\, architectural heritage\, and abstract research data into spatial dramaturgy and scenographic language. \nBarbora Klapalová is an architect\, scenographer\, and exhibition designer based in the Czech Republic. She is the founder and art director of Play to Lift\, a studio focused on storytelling through space and narrative exhibition design. Her work combines architectural thinking\, dramaturgy\, and visitor-centred interpretation\, with a strong emphasis on process\, structure\, and the emotional readability of space. Her projects include exhibitions and interpretive concepts for the National Museum and the Museum of the City of Prague\, among others. Barbora also teaches exhibition design and museum studies at Charles University in Prague. Each tour was illustrated and interpreted with digital collections from museums\, galleries\, libraries and archives around Europe. In this practical webinar\, you will hear from Europeana about tour best practices and ideas on how to use digitised collections in your interpretation projects. \nAdrian Murphy has worked at Europeana since 2016\, engaging audiences with the digitised cultural heritage collections. He works on editorial strategy\, digital storytelling\, participatory campaigns and developing audience communities\, as well as curating features such as stories\, exhibitions and walking tours. Prior to Europeana\, he worked at the Horniman Museum and Gardens in London\, where he managed digital activities. He is a Trustee of the Stained Glass Museum\, as well as a member of ICOM and a regular contributor to Wikimedia Commons.
