This webinar explores how tourist guides can continue to fulfil their role as heritage interpreters with the role of heritage interpretation evolving and destinations experiencing overtourism.
Tourist guides, who are part of the economic model of tourism, need to work with or around given conditions and expectations. They need to use their guiding skills and embrace the interpretive approach in order to tackle challenges. Our session will look briefly at top tips for guiding skills and will discuss interpretation skills for larger groups within a commercial itinerary, such as expectation management, fostering a suitable environment for thinking and reflection, turning visitors from passive consumers into active participants and seeking out interpretive encounters. If you would like to join for this webinar, register here.
