Five years ago, UNESCO defined value-based heritage interpretation (VBHI) to meet the challenges of the 21st century. IE decided to support this initiative. It revised its mission and aligned its training programme with this approach.But what does VBHI actually mean? What is new and what challenges and opportunities does it bring? The webinar aims to answer these questions. It is based on an introductory event currently being tested by IE and scheduled to launch in October. Thorsten Ludwig (Germany), MSc Interpretation, worked in a national park until 1993, when he founded Bildungswerk Interpretation as his own company to provide interpretive training and planning. As IE Managing Director (2015-2021), he worked with UNESCO on the development of VBHI.
