Online technologies are more and more used by museums these days. Covid has contributed to this trend considerably. The magic of a museum visit, however, is based on the exclusive opportunity to enjoy direct contact with unique phenomena and appreciate their authenticity. How are Czech museums using online technologies and how are they dealing with the handicap of distance between audience, interpreter and phenomenon? There are more questions than answers, but that is perhaps the key.
Ladislav Ptáček works in the field of heritage interpretation in the Czech Republic. He started as a tour guide and gradually extended his area of activity to interpretive planning of trails, museum exhibitions and protected areas.
