Focus of the course: The primary aim of the course is to raise awareness of the importance of heritage through interpretation for both community and visitors, to encourage people to discover, explore, analyze, observe, understand, feel, experience and ultimately use it. Interpretation involves providing information to visitors in such a way as to stimulate them to learn more and gain more understanding about the site. The purpose of the course is to enable students to cope with the contemporary requirements of visitors who are increasingly aiming to travel to educate and gain knowledge of the site/destination visited. By learning about the concept of interpretation, students will acquire the necessary skills to present the natural and cultural heritage in an interesting and attractive way, and thus encourage visitors to become emotionally connected, not just intellectual.
