The Global Alliance for Heritage Interpretation is inviting all interpreters around the world to GAHI special edition of the charity webinar series: Saving Ukrainian heritage.

Join us in showing support for Ukraine with this special edition webinar series.
At IE, we say that interpretation should “make heritage more meaningful to people and people more mindful towards our shared values”. This claim becomes even more relevant in difficult times. Global Alliance for Heritage Interpretation organises a special edition of the webinar series, dedicated to Ukrainian heritage. Please share with your peers, friends, neighbours, and everyone!  We wish to create awareness, inspire hope, and gather donations to the survival of Ukrainian heritage by interpreters from all over the world!
The webinars will be one hour via Zoom.

First charity webinar:
The love of freedom – Why the world needs Skovoroda, and Ukrainian culture
6 July, 18.00 CEST

This series is free, but you do need to register here.

On Friday night, May 6, 2022 a Russian missile set fire to the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Museum in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine.  Skovoroda was a beloved poet, philosopher, teacher and composer whose work is still influencing modern poets today.  He has been seen as a symbol of the “love of freedom” and for many, the attack on the museum (which is actually originally Skovoroda’s home) felt like an attack on the soul of the country.  We will hear about the Skovoroda museum, before and after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, why the world needs Skovoroda, how interpreters are helping make it visible to the world, and how you can help.
