A module on live interpretation was held in the Trakošćan Castle, Croatia.
For the first time in Croatia, the two-day IE module on live interpretation was held. It took place at the Trakošćan Castle, a protected cultural property of national importance. The historical and natural entity consisting of the castle, surrounding buildings, a park-forest and a lake, turned out to be the perfect location for the module. The inspiring surroundings provided participants with the opportunity to develop the in-depth specific skills needed for live heritage interpretation.
The aim of the module was to enable the distinction between costuming and interpretation itself, with an emphasis on character building and their interaction in a real heritage setting. The module covered theoretical and practical aspects of interpretation, with a particular focus on audience engagement and the creation of authentic experiences.
