IE Croatia participated at the Balkan Museum Network conference.

The ‘Meet, See, Do – Museum Trends’ conference, which was organised by the Balkan Museum Network in partnership with Zagreb City Museum and NEMO – Network of European Museum Organisations, took place in Zagreb on April 28-29. It brought together museum and heritage professionals to explore emerging trends in the sector.

Over the course of two full days, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, practical workshops, and networking opportunities, sparking new ideas and fostering meaningful collaboration.

Interpret Europe Croatia participated in two slots. IE certified trainer Ivana Jagić Boljat gave a workshop on value-based heritage interpretation, offering participants the chance to explore how values can enrich interpretation and deepen participants’ engagement. The session illustrated how the IE training programme has evolved to incorporate values-based interpretation and what this means for the roles of guides, writers, and planners.

In the second slot, Irina Ban, IE Country Coordinator Croatia, introduced the Interpret Europe association, its goals, membership benefits and activities of the association.

It was great to represent IE and reach a wide network of other HI professionals from across the Balkans.
